Gallienus, 253-268. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 28 mm, 19.76 g, 11 h), Rome, 253-254. IMP C P LIC GALLIENVS AVG Laureate and cuirassed bust of Gallienus to right, breastplate decorated with gorgoneion. Rev. VIRTVS AVGG / S - C Virtus standing front, head to left, holding spear in her left hand and placing her right on shield set on ground. Cohen 1293. MIR 38dd. RIC 248. A very attractive example with a portrait of fine style. Somewhat smoothed, otherwise, good very fine.
